The Governor-General's Achievement Awards
and
The I Believe Initiative

I Believe Initiative
The I Believe Initiative which is the service-oriented arm of the programme, was launched in 2011.
The object of the programme is to motivate and inspire youth to believe in themselves, achieve their God-given potential and to give service to their country.
The purpose of the IBI is to respond to Jamaica’s crises and the citizens’ concerns with meaningful initiatives and measurable results. This encapsulates the mandate that Ambassadors are entrusted with – mobilizing the inner resources of young people, forging partnerships and pooling assets in a bid to rid Jamaica of the troubles that threaten to derail its societalstability.

Governor-General's Achievement Awards
This programme was launched in 1991, The Governor-General’s Achievement Awards (GGAA) recognizes and celebrates exceptional Jamaicans, who are leading change within their communities and are excelling in areas of leadership and academics despite the challenges they may have faced.
Recipients of the GGAA will receive their awards from His Excellency The Governor-General and their respective Parish Custodes, through a pre-recorded ceremony at King’s House. A GGAA lapel pin is also given to each awardee as they become members of a growing network of inspiring Jamaicans.
